Breakout Season and World Series Victory
In 1960, Clemente had a breakout season, batting .314 with 16 home runs and 94 RBIs. He was named to his first All-Star team and won the National League batting title. The following year, he led the Pirates to their first World Series victory since 1925.
Clemente was a key player in the World Series, batting .352 with two home runs and four RBIs. He also made a spectacular catch in Game 7 that helped preserve the Pirates' victory.
Continued Success and Hall of Fame Induction
