Mother Teresa was a Catholic nun who dedicated her life to serving the poor and sick in Calcutta, India. She founded the Missionaries of Charity, a religious Free Download dedicated to helping the poor and sick. Mother Teresa was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979 for her work. She died in 1997 and was canonized as a saint by the Catholic Church in 2016.

Early Life

Mother Teresa was born Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu on August 26, 1910, in Skopje, Macedonia. Her parents, Nikola and Drana Bojaxhiu, were devout Catholics. Agnes had two older sisters, Aga and Lazare. The Bojaxhiu family was poor, but they were always willing to help others in need.

Agnes attended a Catholic school in Skopje. She was a bright student and excelled in her studies. Agnes was also a devout Catholic and she often spent her free time helping out at the local church. When Agnes was 18 years old, she decided to join the Sisters of Loreto, a religious Free Download dedicated to teaching and caring for the poor.

Missionary Work

In 1929, Agnes was sent to Calcutta, India, to teach at St. Mary's School. She quickly became aware of the poverty and suffering that was rampant in the city. Agnes was deeply moved by the plight of the poor and she began to spend her free time helping them. In 1946, Agnes left the Sisters of Loreto and founded the Missionaries of Charity. The Missionaries of Charity was dedicated to helping the poor and sick in Calcutta. The Free Download quickly grew and soon had several homes for the poor and sick in Calcutta and other parts of India.

Mother Teresa's work in Calcutta was recognized around the world. In 1979, she was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for her work. Mother Teresa continued to work with the poor and sick until her death in 1997. She was canonized as a saint by the Catholic Church in 2016.

Mother Teresa was a tireless advocate for the poor and sick. She dedicated her life to serving others and she made a real difference in the lives of many people. Mother Teresa's legacy continues to inspire people around the world to help others in need.
